Your payment waits in escrow until your order arrives
When you pay by card with Buyer Protection, WaContacts holds the money. The seller is paid once you have your order, not before.
How it works
-
Step 1
Pay by card
At checkout, pay by card and keep Buyer Protection switched on.
-
Step 2
Money in escrow
WaContacts holds your payment. The seller sees the order, not the money yet.
-
Step 3
Seller delivers
The seller sends your order or gets it ready for pickup.
-
Step 4
Seller is paid
Confirm it arrived from the link in your email, and the seller is paid.
When the seller is paid
- You confirm the order arrived: the seller is paid straight away.
- The seller marks it delivered and you say nothing: they are paid 24 hours later.
- Never marked delivered: they are paid 7 days after you paid.
- You report a problem before then: the money stays in escrow until we look into it.
If something goes wrong
Use the link in your order email to report a problem: the order did not arrive, or it is not what you paid for. The payment is frozen while our team speaks to you and the seller. If the problem is upheld, we arrange your refund.
What Buyer Protection covers
Covered
Card payments made at checkout on a WaContacts seller page that shows the Buyer Protection badge.
Not covered
Orders arranged on WhatsApp and paid to the seller directly, bank transfers to the seller's own account, and any payment made outside WaContacts.
